ES-KO Mozambique joined the global World Food Day observance with a week-long campaign designed to turn nutrition guidance into simple, actionable habits.
On 16 October, our team visited Nacala Velha Secondary School for an energetic Q&A session on healthy eating, hydration, and disease prevention. The quiz format and symbolic prizes kept students engaged while linking everyday choices to long-term well-being.
On 17 October, we continued the awareness campaign with our customers at the cafeteria serving CLN, hosting a breakfast-time talk and quick Q&A on nutrition, portion balance, and healthy food habits that fit busy workdays. Guided by ES-KO’s educational approach, the winners were rewarded with small gifts, reinforcing learning through positive, hands-on engagement.
Throughout the week, site teams in Chimoio and Maputo also hosted awareness sessions and food-safety demonstrations for our customers Coca-Cola, Cervejas de Mozambique, Cimentos de Mozambique and DP World, along with collaborative discussions on nutrition, sustainability, and public health. Activities reinforced the Codex Alimentarius and Good Hygiene & Manufacturing Practices (GHP/GMP), promoted continuous learning in QHSE principles, and celebrated teamwork and leadership in building resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems. More than a commemoration, the week became a collective movement to strengthen food-safety culture and sustainability awareness—affirming that every individual has a role in shaping the future of our food systems.
World Food Day is observed yearly on 16 October to mark the 1945 founding of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). In 2025—FAO’s 80th anniversary—the theme “Hand in hand for better food and a better future” highlights the power of partnership and everyday choices to strengthen eco-friendly agrifood systems.
As a global provider of catering solutions, ES-KO supports the fight against hunger, promotes local sourcing and local economies.
